Tourist route Izhevsk – Glazov (“Eye-town”)

1st day
The route starts in Izhevsk with a visit to M. T. Kalashnikov Museum and Exhibition Small Arms Complex.

On the way to Glazov tourists will get acquainted with Udmurtia: the history of Izhevsk, Yakshur-Bodia district, the Siberian Route. They will also visit the museum of the prisoners’ life “The road of convicts” in Bachkeevo village, the Center of Udmurt culture in Sundur village, meet the famous character of Udmurt folklore Lapsho Pedun’, visit Igra Museum of Local Lore, History and Economy.

2nd day
The day starts with the tour of Glazov. The tourists will see architectural buildings of interest, memorial places connected with life of famous Russian writers, scientists, and politicians.

In Glazov Museum of Local Lore, History and Economy and in the Museum-Reserve “Idnakar” the tourists will learn where the “eye” of Glazov is, how grandfather of P. I. Tchaikovsky equipped the Siberian Route with everything necessary “by order”, why the heir to the Russian throne went by Siberian Route, how A. P. Chekhov found himself a wife in Glazov, where the hero Idna lived. The tourists will also climb the Idnakar Mountain, have the bird’s eye view of the town, and hear the story of the Udmurt ancestors.
