In the mid of XX century the representatives of Izhevsk armory design school gained worldwide leadership in a number of product lines.

• Mikhail Timofeevich Kalashnikov is the inventor of the legendary assault rifle AK-47;
• Evgeniy Fedorovich Dragunov is the designer of SVD, the famous sniper rifle that received recognition as the best rifle of the ХХ century;
• Gennadiy Nikolaevich Nikonov is the designer of AN-94, the assault rifle of new generation.
