This motto is the main for the enterprise which has been working for 65 years as one of the leaders of the domestic defense complex. On the eve of the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant’s anniversary the Kalashnikov Museum and Exhibition Complex of Small Arms presents a new exhibition “Kupol”: protecting the peaceful sky”.

Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant “Kupol” was founded as an enterprise developing missile control units. Eventually the plant became the leader in the production of high-tech surface-to-air missile systems “Osa” and “Tor”, which are still unsurpassed military vehicles in their class.

Unique models will be presented to the general public at the anniversary exhibition: from the early models of “Krug” and “Osa” surface-to-air missile systems to the modern Arctic version of the Tor-M2DT SAM system, “Osa” SAM system’s receiver and the surface-to-air guided missile for the Tor SAM.

In addition, guests will be able to see the latest developments of the IEMZ “Kupol” – the universal target-training complex “Adjutant” and the mock-up of “Typhoon-Air Defense” military vehicle.

But “the plant” means not only military and civilian products, but also people. In the exhibition space visitors will be able to see personal possessions, workbooks and documents that belonged to the outstanding designer I. M. Drize and the legendary plant manager A. V. Voskresensky.

The opening of the exhibition “Kupol”: protecting the peaceful sky” will be the central event of the All-Russian action “Night of Museums – 2022” and will be held on May 21 at 18.00 at the Kalashnikov Museum and Exhibition Complex of Small Arms at the address: Izhevsk, Borodina st., 19.
