Exhibition «I Was in that War…»

The exhibition was devoted to 60-year anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945; it was developed in co-operation with the republic youth organization «Dolg»*.

The exhibition was based on war-time articles discovered within exploration works. Awards, soldiers’ personal belongings, name tags, that allowed to identify those who gone for a burton. Among these were:  a medallion, telling a story of a young soldier I.F. Afonin, a medal of battle honor  belonged to a second lieutenant, communication platoon commander I.P. Zhukov.

Among the exhibited items were weapon and ordnance remains, photos and video materials of the war time and films provided by the exploration groups.

The exhibition art-design and multimedia projects have been developed and created by the Design Department of Izhevsky Mechanichesky Zavod and Udmurt State University Multimedia Center. 

 * The Exploration Club has been functioning in Udmurt Republic since 1989 (since 1992 named as URMOO «Dolg»). The primary objective of the club is search, burial and memorializing people who died defending their motherland in the years of the Great Patriotic War.
 In total, the organization members made over  60 expeditions in various regions of Russia where military actions took place, in particular, in Leningrad, Novgorod, Murmansk regions, Republic of Karelia and Krasnodar Territory. During this period 1687 remains of deceased soldiers have been found and buried.
