THE OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION “READY TO FIGHT”

Military uniforms of different epochs, means of communication, respirators, parts of military ammunition, weapons and personal things of Soviet soldiers and officers can be seen at the exhibition “Ready to Fight”. It was opened in the Kalashnikov Museum and Exhibition Complex of Small Arms on the eve of the Day of Military Honour of Russia.

In the 1970s-1980s the appearance of Soviet soldiers and different types of troops underwent a number of changes. These changes were rather caused by the existing military experience in real fight conditions, as well as the overall changes in the idea of how the military should look like. Soviet military uniform was practical and comfortable to wear while fighting. Uniform of Soviet soldiers was distinguished by durability and maintenance-free. Officers and soldiers of the Soviet Army were necessarily equipped with everyday, combat and parade uniform which had both summer and winter variations. The new museum exhibition presents a collection of Soviet military uniforms for all the four seasons, in field, mountain and camouflage performance.

The central elements of the exhibition “Ready to Fight” are items from the museum funds, the collection of weapons technician of LLC “Izhevsk Rifles” Maksim Anatolyevitch Ivushkin and items handed by Oleg Vladimirovitch Bolshakov, the director of the Association of Patriotic Education “Shield of Russia”.

Within the framework of the exhibition interactive tours and lectures of veterans of the Union of Paratroopers of the Udmurt Republic will be held. The visitors can have a military training course (pre-order is advisable) to learn to wind footcloths, put on a respirator, assemble and disassemble the Kalashnikov assault rifle.
