The opening of the new exhibition «Woodcarving Masters» was held on the 28^th of June, 2018.

The director of the Kalashnikov Museum and Exhibition Complex of Small Arms Olga Minervina welcomed the guests at the opening ceremony. Denis Utrobin gave a welcome speech on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Udmurt Republic.

Since 1994 Alexander Borzov has been engaged in the creation of artistic cold steel arms. He is a member of Gunmakers & Gunsmiths Guild of Russia. On the opening day Alexander and Olga held an exclusive workshop on decorative woodcarving and Tula wood incrustation.

In their work the craftsmen masterly combine various wood species! Exotic tree species, such as mahogany, amaranth and boxwood give specific colouring to these objects. Each item is unique. This is not merely a composition with a blade; every item here presents an artistic image, a work of art that embodies the author’s idea.

The exhibition will work till September 2, 2018.
