Opening of exhibition of the Izhevsk art weapon will take place in Museum and exhibition complex of M. T. Kalashnikov on June 9, 2016 at 16:00. The Izhevsk engraving school as the original direction in art of decorating of the weapon is one of the youngest in the world. Her formation and development is closely connected with the Leonard Vasev School of gun skill on Izhevsk mechanical plant celebrating nowadays the 60th anniversary. Since 1956 the School conducts educational activity, playing important role in training of the qualified masters, carrying on traditions of the Izhevsk and Tula armorers, considering experience of the best weapon schools in of Ferlakhe (Austria) and in Sule (Germany). The main tendencies of development of engraving art in Izhevsk were made by Leonard Vasev and his followers. L. Vasev is gifted artist, the innovator in the field of engraving technologies, having received vocational training in Germany, taught engraving art at School of gun skill where he prepared the whole group of the remarkable masters who brought deserved glory to the Izhevsk art weapon. The exhibition will show style features of the Izhevsk engraving school, will present exclusive samples of artly decorated weapon. Visitors will be able to get acquainted with creativity of outstanding masters of the Izhevsk engraving school glorified by names of L. Vasev, A. Lekomtsev, V. Beloborodov, A. Peredvigin, Yu. Blinov and other talented artists-engravers. Work of the exhibition will last till August 21, 2016.
