The pan-Russian philatelic exhibition was opened on May 23, 2019 in the Kalashnikov Museum and Exhibition Complex of Small Arms. The philatelic exhibition named “Glory of Russia” is another event to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mikhail Kalashnikov. Philatelists and coin collectors from all over the country present their collections of postal envelopes and stamps, coins and pocket calendars. The event was organized by the Department of the Russian Post in the Udmurt Republic with the support of the Government of the Udmurt Republic, the Union of Philatelists of the Udmurt Republic with the assistance of the Union of Russian Philatelists.
Olga Minervina, the director of the museum, welcomed the guests of the event. In her greeting speech she mentioned that the museum funds carefully kept Mikhail Kalashnikov’s personal and business correspondence.
During the opening ceremony a special postal card made in honour of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mikhail Kalashnikov was cancelled. The procedure of cancellation was held by Victor Loshkarev, the Minister of Industry and Communications of the Udmurt Republic, Andrey Sivtsov, the director of the Udmurt Department of the Russian Post, Olga Minervina, the director of the Kalashnikov Museum and Exhibition Complex, Arsen Melitonyan, the president of the Russian Union of Filocartists.
The exhibition will run until June 22, 2019.
