New exhibition in museum “The Izhevsk sports weapon. History of victories” under the auspices of the Cultural Olympic Games “Sochi 2014”
Оpenings ceremony of an exhibition “The Izhevsk sports weapon. History of victories” will take place in museum and exhibition complex of small arms of M.T.Kalashnikov on December 18, 2013 at 16.00.
The exhibition dated for the forthcoming XXII Olympic winter Games and the XI Paralympic winter games of 2014 in Sochi, acquaints with legendary samples of the Izhevsk sports weapon which numerous victories of our athletes were won with.
Among them – free rifle “S-49” developed by E. Dragunov. With this weapon the Soviet shooter VasilyBorisov won first place in Bulgaria at the international competitions in 1950 ; Anatoly Bogdanov won a gold medal on Olympic Games of 1952 in Helsinki, and in 1954 he won six gold medals in shooting sports competitions on Superiority of the world in Caracas.
The rifle “Rekord-CISM” which became triumph of the Izhevsk armorers.
With it the team of CSKA won the World army games CISM in Italy in 1995 and brought challenge prize for a command victory in shooting to Russia for the first time.
Rifles for quick fire with which the national team of Russia won the World Cups and European Championship.
Rifles for biathlon “BI-7,62” and “BI-6,5” with which Alexander Tikhonov – “Mr. Biathlon” won, he received this rank as the best athlete of the XX century in this discipline.
Pistols – from “Izh-1” with whom Alexey Guschin won a gold medal on Olympic Games in Rome in 1960, to “Izh-35”, Marina Logvinenko, the most titled sportswoman of Russian team – the world champion in 1986, 1990 years, the champion of Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 shot with it.
Photos, awards, personal belongings of athletes, videos of competitions will help visitors to feel triumph of the Soviet and Russian shooting sports achieved, thanks largely to the Izhevsk weapon.
More than 50 samples of the Izhevsk sports weapon, photos, awards and other materials of the Soviet and Russian athletes, and also sports equipment are presented at the exhibition.
